Ratification FAQ

How do you know who is a GMUFA member?
The Faculty Association office receives a current list of ALL individuals currently paying member dues to the Faculty Association. Only individuals on that list will receive a link to the electronic ballot. If you are a GMUFA member currently paying dues and you do not receive an electronic ballot email by 4:00 PM on June 20, please contact the FA office as soon as possible. If you know someone who hasn't received communications from the GMUFA, please refer them to the FA Office.

How does the electronic ballot work?
Once the FA office receives the information above, those individual's emails are loaded into a file and checked again to ensure both eligibility and accuracy. Once this is complete, the file is uploaded to the GMUFA website. After the ballot is created and the file is uploaded, each member will receive a UNIQUE link to click. Once this link has been clicked and the ballot voted on, the link will no longer be valid. This ensures that only 1 vote per member is permitted. If you do click on the link again, you will receive a message stating:
"Thank you for submitting your vote"
The link cannot be shared, copy and pasted, or duplicated in any way.

Is the ballot anonymous?
According to the GMUFA's Constitution and Bylaws, ratification votes must be conducted by secret ballot. The GMUFA Board and staff do not have access to voting information. In the event of a contested vote, our website provider has the capability to verify that each email address was only sent one email and one unique link.

If you have further questions or comments, please contact the FA Office or a member of the FANC team.
